Recently I had an email from a reader who said "I found your comments neither too much hope/fantasy nor too angry/sceptical. You appear to want to know the facts and leave the emotions out of it. This I prefer also!"
He was talking about posts I'd made on Thirty Dollar Unit so I'm reaching one person at least.
Recently the Thirty Dollar Unit forum has become a place for vitriol and home for vicious accusations. I'm not going to sink to the depths of some of the posters on the forum, suffice to say that a small number of members are crying foul and pronouncing the end of Thirty Dollar Unit.
The question now is whether the thousands of people waiting for a valid update from the Admin should harbour any further hope. As I've said repeatedly in regard to any online investment very few people know the real truth about any opportunity but that doesn't stop people speculating and this appears to be what is happening at Thirty Dollar Unit.
Unfortunately the bickering has got totally out of hand and it is impossible to predict what the final outcome will be.
On another forum a poster made the point that it is pointless going to the Thirty Dollar Unit forum and to just wait for an update from the Admin. My tendency is to agree with this approach and see what the eventual outcome is.
Being a glass half full kind of person I'm still cautiously optimistic but as the saying goes 'not holding my breath'

Global Pension Plan post a closure date...
As I mentioned in a recent post Global Pension Plan were intending to post a closure date. This has now happened and for those who may not have heard it is 30th June 2009.
This date was given by the Trust Partner to the Admin so it would appear that this is a solid date for something to happen.
Unfortunately the update did not go into detail as to what would happen after this date but reading between the lines there do seem to be enough people signed up for this to reach a payout.
When that payout may happen is still unknown but at least with a date Global Pension Plan have something to work with.
If you have been waiting on the sidelines (and I'm sure that there are people who are) then you should look to get your funds and documentation to Global Pension Plan very soon.

Thirty Dollar Unit - who'd be an Admin...
Is it me?...Why would anyone take on the role of Admin for an online investment opportunity? Certainly not moi!
I'm sure I will be lambasted for some of the things I'm going to say in this post but to be honest very little surprises me at the moment.
There are probably thousands of people who are right now waiting for some news from the Admin of Thirty Dollar Unit. It's been quite some time since the site went down and the forum that took its place has experienced a roller coaster of emotions since it was set up. In fact it's a classic case of initial euphoria followed by mild unease and descending into some fairly unsavoury stuff. So, why has this happened?
Personally, I believe it is like many other such online investments...lack of communication and over optimism.
The TDU admin, Jackie, is bearing the brunt of what is turning out to be some heavy scepticism around the whole operation.
Now I have no inside knowledge of TDU or any other online investment but what I do know is that if ever I invest I go in with my eyes open and in the knowledge that I could lose my money. It seems a shame that countless others don't have this attitude either through ignorance of the online investment world or just like to cause trouble.
Will TDU pay? I can't answer that but it certainly won't help if I send pointless questions to Jackie and her team as this will only increase the delays. Just let them get on with things. If we get paid then that's great, if not, just move on.
Now I know many people will say that this is a blinkered view and somewhat dismissive of other people's situations and whilst I have sympathy for people who put their money into programmes such as TDU hoping to pay off some serious debts I have to question whether they fully understand the risks involved.
I've already had comments saying that I have no right to pass comment on TDU but as far as I'm aware free speech is still my right so I'll continue to voice my opinion. I've also been asked to join an alternative TDU forum but again I just don't see the point of creating an alternative.
We are all frustrated at the time it is taking to get things resolved and it is possible that they never will be to our satisfaction but I'm not going to self-flagellate in the meantime. Let Jackie and her team get on with things and see how things turn out.

Affordable Affiliates seem to be a genuine opportunity...
One opportunity that seems to provide a good return to its members is Affordable Affiliates. Unlike many other types of investment in this one you make money by providing funds that are used to buy and sell a range of items such as furniture.
As far as I can see this is a very viable operation and the site provides a raft of up to date information about how things work and what sort of payment regimes they offer.
They use Solid Trust Pay and AlertPay as payment processors with minimum deposits being $100. Interestingly there is a maximum deposit of $500. It seems this has been set so no-one can distort the potential earnings.
I've been monitoring the site for several weeks now and I've decided that there is definitely some potential for Affordable Affiliates.
It's good to see an opportunity where you can see just what your money is being used for as this information is provided once your funds are allocated.
Also, Affordable Affiliates limit the amount they take from your deposit for each item so you are never exposing a high amount of your fund at any one time.
Everything I've seen is very promising and I'd highly recommend taking a look for yourself.

Global Pension Plan publishes update...
Having recently posted about Imperia Invest it's good to see that Global Pension Plan are still beavering away to reach a successful payday.
However, there was some unfortunate news. It seems that the Admin, known to all as Stella is having to step down due to illness. There are not many details about this but it is mentioned that the stress involved in organising the payouts has created a very stressful situation for Stella. It seems a shame for her to have come this far and not be there to see everything finally completed.
The update published suggests that work is progressing well and that the next communication will be to tell investors of a potential payout date.
Personally, I'm not a great believer in published dates as there are many things that can happen to throw things off course but it is good to see that Global Pension Plan are moving forward.
So, after a fairly quiet period it does seem that investments are getting closer to a successful conclusion. Let's hope the positive news spreads and continues.

Taking stock in a quiet period...
Posts have been few and far between recently as many programmes have retreated into their 'shell' whilst they deal with the applications from investors.
As I write some news has been received from Imperia Invest who are getting closer to completing the validation of member application forms. It does appear, as with many similar programmes, that a small number of wrongly completed forms are taking a lot of time to correct and overall progress is slow.
One thing that Imperia Invest has introduced is the ability to use Perfect Money as a payment option. This is a new company to me and I'm not sure whether or not this may be the method that Imperia Invest choose to pay their members when the time comes.
At the moment it is only being proffered as an alternative way to make investments as the belief is that the ability to fund Perfect Money by wire transfer should be a safer way to operate. I guess only time will tell.
Having said that programmes are relatively quiet at the moment there is still things to comment on so I will be looking to increase my posting going forward.
